        ... s old home "The White House" in Prestatyn and to Colwyn Bay Cemetery (where my Mum's ashes were scattered two years ago). Onto Conwy Castle and the smallest house in Britain.         ... at the entrance way, but with a distinct spin towards quality. I was thrilled to wander in there yesterday and notice hundreds of cases of 2001 Bordeaux Haut Medoc piled shoulder high, at the unbelievable price of €8.95 each. Carrefour is great for large weekly shops, where you can pile the trolley full with a huge assortment of delights and spend only €100 or so.         First full day at Chatel. It is so beautiful here. Easy start to the day with beautiful breakfast, and views of the alps. Headed up to the mountain for a skiing lesson at 11am with Fifi. Nice Frenchman who was very patient with us all. Hardest part to start with was the rope pulley getting us back to the top,of the beginners slope. We had a 2 hour lesson and the took the chair lift up to the (near) top of ...

        ... at my brother's wedding a few years ago, in the best possible way.

        And then on the Sunday we took advantage of the location. Katrina and I rode the ski lift up to the top of the mountain - something much more disconcerting when there's a fifty foot drop onto a concrete carpark rather than lovely soft looking snow.         Lovely to see the sun shining, especially when we had such a fantastic view over Lake Geneva from our hotel.
