    Today was the final day of our tour, but sadly we could not hike due to pouring rain. Luckily we are at a nice hotel in an actual town (Charmonix) which is a good place for a day off. From la Tour we started walking towards Argentiere but ended up stopping at Montroc where we hopped onto a train to Argentiere with some fellow travellers. With the day done, 18km later and having climbed +3000 feet, we were spent and happily checked into our hotel and hit the hot tub and swimming pool.     We ended up getting to the hotel at about 8 PM, so didn't have time to go back into town for dinner and to see the city. It was a bit of a bugger considering we won't have time tomorrow as we are at CERN all day. Instead, we went next door to a nice Italian place. I had an awesome risotto, and many of the others got other fantastic looking pasta dishes and pizzas.

    ... we were in Lausanne. Angela bade us farewell at this point as we headed to yet another train station to find our way down to the lake.

    Most pedestrian areas around Swiss lakes are simply gorgeous. Full of parks, sitting areas and sights to amaze. With a family of young children, and Tony, it is akin to a young version of turrets when trying to have a conversation.
