... of the moules en creme avec lardons was more than enough for both of us, and even we were challenged to finish them off!

We had decided on Niort as a good place to explore this region and we'd booked the Chateau Bel-Air through airbnb a few days ago. The pictures looked inviting and the price was right, so off we went, castle hunting! Wow! What a surprise we had ...

Well the guy behind the bar was English and living nearby helped the Dutch owners out at busy times. So talked about retiring to France and how much he and his wife like it. Then an added prayer had been to have chance to talk about my faith in ...

Ok so missed yesterday. Driving so no internet. Lovely drive south. Told sat nav to avoid toll roads so had great route using main and not so main roads into an area south of the Loire en route to Royan. Very friendly site in the countryside with mixture of nationalities. Quite tired so cooked a meal and had an early night. Weather quite warm but not very sunny with the clear blue skies I had sort of expected. It's great to have daylight so late even end of ...
