... Rocher de Miglos well before the pass and it took us almost half an hour to reach it. From there we followed open grassland until we reached a herd of cows. These suddenly all turned and ran towards us. Waving our sticks above our heads brought them to a halt. We met the cowherd a bit later and he said they might have thought we were bringing them some salt. Moving right along we passed a herd of horses and some more cows who were accompanied by a big bull...Luckily he was too ...

... we walked to the ruins of Chateau Miglos, an old castle nearby with a checkered history mainly due to differences of opinion about what a fair tax really represented! (Some things never change). We decided to go ahead as a whole day of playing scrabble on ...

We returned to the normal track only to meet up with a herd of sleeping cows that were not too happy about being chased off it. Having convinced them of the error of there ways we climbed ever upwards eventually reaching the pass called the Port de Saleix. Now ...

... us, but as they were camping we had the 10 bed dormitory to ourselves, there were no other guests. We are finding that not very many people are walking this section of the GR 10, probably because accommodation is very limited. To begin the day we had a transfer by car from Aunac to St Lizier de Ustou. The very friendly taxi driver made a small detour for us so we could get some money out of a teller machine in a town along the way. When he dropped us off the trail of ...
