... other direction, and no it wasn’t there either. We went all the way back to Homps again to the brocante. But no, it wasn’t there. I either dropped it or it was stolen. So….a long afternoon was spent cancelling credit card and gnashing my teeth at the loss of my purse, the cards and the money in it.

We had dinner by the canal in the village of La ...

... a common salt tax collector who had an obsession to make the canal ‘idea’ work. We went through a lock and gazed enviously at the 5 star hotel barge.

Headed south for a coastal drive around the outskirts of

In search of a lighthouse to view, we drove a very narrow scary
    road around the cliff.

country where we looked up and atop the steepest highest mountain were the
remains of Lapradelle-Pulaurens, a cathar castle built to prevent attack from
the church that were persecuting Cathars at the time. We had to walk a fair way
up a stony path but we were rewarded with stunning views. We walked the
battlements and stood in the various towers.

... Not as fast as a road bike of course but compared to the Canal tracks the road to Narbonne was fast. 15km in 40min with busy traffic we found a pretty **** cafe for a coffee, it happens. From Narbonne we followed the Canal and the track was quite busy, once again we passed everyone as the tail wind was wonderful. Thoughts of the return trip crept in though.
Gruissan was a very busy town and we finally arrived at the ...
