    A little more New Orleans

A travel blog entry by akgraff on Jul 07, 2015

... found a Lululemon and did a little shopping. Tami took me to get an english donut, (beignet) which is a must try. We took a little nap after that. After getting some much needed rest, we headed to Poppy's Crazy Lobster for some more local fare - red beans and rice for Tami and some gumbo for me. ... by the river and made our way to bourbon street. I had a "Big Ass beer" and took in some serious people watching! The area seems like it is on the edge of complete chaos! Naturally the moment we knew it existed we had to go!

    ... 3000 mile mark. Incredible.

As we drive these last 2 or 3 hours, we are reflecting on the highlights of this trip. Of course, it started with a bang eating at Elijah’s in Jasper, Cotton Alley in Natchez, continuing with the Bush Bean restaurant and the wonderful BBQ at Hungry Bear in NC and Palmetto Pit in SC. We traversed on many back roads including the Natchez Trace Parkway where we saw that eerie ...

... loose wire amongst this? better yet, imagine how awesome it would feel commissioning a new rocket or space shuttle by fault finding from this rig? Tracing back the faults and knowing that you've fixed it, now that would be some bloody fantastic satisfying work! I was impressed!! I was also very impressed to find out that this test rig was only just decommissioned when they stopped using the Apollo fleet in 2011, so I think it was in use for like 30 odd years ...
