Catching up with old friends...
We loved catching up with Al and Laura at their (relatively) new place in Colorado Springs. (Al is a friend of Tony's from high school, college, and beyond who moved to Colorado Springs this last year from DC, and Laura is his lovely girlfriend who joined him, moving from Ft. Lauderdale.) The girls had fun staying here, especially because Al and Laura love Legos as much as them... ;)

Leaving the Mountains
... able to hike as well since the main lodge is up a steep hill…LOL. We have a balcony overlooking the country clubhouse building and a small mountain area. It’s very quiet so far. I checked out the main building on a little walk and we headed on a small drive to see where the laundry was located in town and also grabbed a sandwich and soup from Panera down the road. Colorado Springs...Three Years Later

Before we ever left Madrid, I bought tickets for the Sky Sox baseball game on July 4. I figured what better way to celebrate the 4th of July than with a baseball game and fireworks display after the game. Unfortunately, due to all of the fires active in Colorado at the time, the authorities had canceled the fireworks display. We certainly understood, but we were disappointed.
