Ruth and I went to the entrance hall and tried, unsuccessfully, to find a pay phone. Then Ruth stayed in the entrance and I walked off around the halls to find JJ. The rooms, in some cases, are dark with many quiet corners, so I could have walked past JJ without seeing each other.
