          Waterfront view ?

Beautiful park ! Many places to fish.

          Not dog friendly.

Half campsites were on the beach and half on the river.

Riverside has one bathhouse / Air conditioned but not close to all the sites.

          Large sites overall.

Rained the first day, flooded 95% of the riverside sites, ours (#54) was the worst with at least 4" of standing water.

No vacant dry spots. Refund issued returned home.

Will try again during dry season. (maybe)

          It's Finally Here

I think it's finally hit me now: I'M FREAKING MOVING TO OKINAWA!

If none of this entry makes any sense it's all because I haven't slept since yesterday sometime. I stayed up the entire night overpacking a total of four bags. My parents chauffeured me to the airport where the United Airlines clerk so pleasantly informed me that my bags were indeed overweight. However, since I am traveling on military orders, ...

... and begin our drive to Jacksonville Airport. We got there pretty smoothly, we dropped our car off and walked back into the terminal to pick our new car up. We were given the exact same Nissan Versa, this time a dark grey one (much nicer). By the time we leave its 1pm, and we hit a few hiccups because my navigation skills failed us within the first 5minutes of the drive. We get back on track and off to Atlanta we go. ...

... up (of course!) But no rest for the weary. Because the pump out system in Cocoa had broken down while we were the marina, we were literally full of s---. (we are talking 150 gallons, folks!) we had to pump and dump before docking at our slip. In spite of our fatigue, (cruising is hard work even on a good day), we were mighty pleased to have this nasty but necessary service performed. Once we were emptied of waste and filled with diesel, we were directed to our dock and given ...

          Making Lemonade out of Lemons

A total rainout day today. Optimistically, we drove to Amelia Island, Florida and Fernandina Beach. I am sure on a sunny day, it would be spectacular. We walked around the quaint town, did some driving sightseeing and had lunch at the beach. It pretty much rained all day, but at least it wasn't cold or windy. Looking forward to tomorrow with improved weather and a trip to Cumberland Island. ...
