    ... were made by stacking stones (stones is probably an understatement - these are big boulders) into a self supporting conical shape with a large (3 metre wide) slab of granite at the top. Impressive. This village was discovered in then1950's and has not been completely explored yet. This village dates from about 900BC. That's old, really old. I wonder how they made these structures, what they were wearing, what the kids ...

    ... The only time it's good not to speak French. We chose to stay in the southern part of Corsica as that is where the beaches and mountains are supposed to be the most spectacular. We are really happy with our choice of Santa Giulia which is a few kms south of Porto Vecchio.     ... In yet another place, we could easily have been in Cradle Mountain National Park - complete with Cradle Mountain. The roads are so much better here too - wider, and a lot less traffic, more like Oz than Italy. We could both easily spend a lot more time here and regret that we only have a few days.
