... day we drove up to the bottom of Snowdonia ((Machynlleth) and settled into a pub for the evening and watched the next semi-final game. The next day (Monday) we went to the Corris Slate Mine and the King Arthur's Labyrinth, then onto Chester for the evening. We stayed with Andrew Howe and were treated like Royalty. A wonderful evening out with the Howe Family. On Tuesday we went with Andrew for a North Wales Coast tour. We went to ...

James is 6 weeks into his first school term in France, with one week to go until the holidays.
Life has been full of routine. For James this is school, Ice Hockey and developing new friendships. ... every mouthful is a delight. James is currently working his way through their counter of offerings, having been told he isn’t allowed to pick the same thing twice. Luckily we are here for a few more months yet. While Chamonix is a fantastic location, it sadly lacks a dedicated food market, where the local producers assemble together 5 or 6 days a week to offer their wares. Alas we have to settle for the Saturday morning open market in central Chamonix, ...

... beer, luckily. Lunch today was bean salad, bread, cheese, kabana ( I think), bananas, potato chips and Leia bought a block of chocolate to share. After lunch we had a long downhill, maybe 2 and 1/2 hours, with an ice cream stop half way down. Tonight's accommodation is the worst room we have had so far, there are 8 mattresses, 4 top and 4 bottom, but only enough room for one person to stand at the end, so it was a nightmare to get dressed and undressed. Thankfully, the ...
