What a day ! We drove 90mins to Lac Aiguebelette and had a wonderful day. By chance we were able to wander into the athletes area and cruised around all their tents. Just like a Sunday picnic, except, stationery bikes, kids paddling pools and rowing boats everywhere. We tracked down the Kiwi's and quickly took a photo and moved on. I was a bit worried about this down-climb given how heavy my pack weighed but it ended up being just fine - but still exhilarating! We climbed two routes from the Cosmiques Hut in about 28 hours, the Cosmiques Arête and Pointe Lachenal(Contamine Route). Both were great routes in ...

... I had no problems finding a person to finish it off for me, though! Our hike continuing, we traversed further down the valley, the views of Mont Blanc becoming clearer.  We stopped for a group photo- all 14 hikers and our guide.  I was glad I'd packed my trusty Gorillapod. By this point, the sun was shining brilliantly, with no threat of rain.  The hike had a different feel today.  We were moving at a much slower pace, almost ...
