    ... riding the Route Des Grande Alps. Its been fantastic. We have ridden through grassy valleys with cattle and sheep. Small sleeping villages and bustling service towns. Marmots have played boo a few times but never stay still long enough for a photo.

    ... So instead of beautiful countryside views, there was a pile of dirt and rubble. So onto plan B. A cheap ACSI campsite 10 km along the road. Far too many hairpins to count! But a fab place. The lake was beautiful and we were treated to the sight of many paragliders flying over us from one of europe's best launch sites for experts.     ... where we wanted to be (had been given a walking tour map by our Canadian friends) but not where we were. The bus driver aimed to be helpful but couldn't read the map. Another girl who didn't live in the area stopped and tried to help (how often does that happen – when you ask someone, they have just arrived in town themselves or live in another place?)

    ... growing right then: petits suisses, Cheeses from Savoy, croissants, Lemon Meringue Pie, Paupiettes de Veau (Little Stuffed Parcels of Veal Fillet), Mashed Potatoes, Apple Tart on a Brioche, Meat Stuffed Veggies, Rice Salad, Pastries from my childhood, Pasta Salad, yeah, that was only in a few days, haha!
