There is not getting around it - it is impossible to come to France and not try the wares!
Once, twice, thrice...
Let's just accept the fact that after visiting, Lille, Amiens and now 4 days in Lyon, there have been a few visits to the local boulangeries.
in fact it was not always our fault - some of them literally would not let us pass by their windows.

Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. We do discuss idea of staying for a week now but in the end decide to continue south to be sure of hotter weather. South to Lyon, another Mercure chain ...

... decide if the multi coloured facade was great or gauche. We both decided we liked it in the end but still not 100% sure.

The interior was likewise interesting and again we decided we liked it although not really our personal taste. Wavy pattern wallpaper, gold picture frames, mirrors, etc, antique furniture and mainly traditional paintings with the odd contemporary. The settings were well spaced and nicely arranged so guests did not look over one another.

... for a church in Markham ( yes, Ontario) - this millionaire dude who built a church there - in the 80's and had three massive bells made. The foundry nearly went bankrupt ( I found out later) as the deal was struck in dollars and the market turned - they now have insurance against this kind if thing.
