ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilmanI know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote d´Azur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote d´Azur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...
Nice, Provence, France tilman... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....
It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...
... Moochelin star cooking It is my job to drive everywhere and keep Scoobs in good health, in return it is Kim's job to cook and clean... sounds like old school type casting but it works! The food has been great (and so has the driving) Kim has even joked about writing a Cookbook for campervaning. We have a 2 burner stove, griller and oven, as well as a small fridge/freezer and limited storage space, so our food is always super fresh. The day always starts with our ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!
When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...
... that we were still in french territory, we feasted on delish pastries galore. Dee sampled her first proper French choc eclair...OH MY GOD was her reaction! Lewey even had dessert envy, and we both laughed at the fact that our tea cost more than the dessert (so very cheap in France for the desserts, bad bad bad as we are rapidly tripling our size, wondering how we will fit on the plane home)!
Feeling a little too much like a backpacker, and needing a tidy up before donning a bathing ...
... was history and beautiful weather with blue skies and white clouds was all that we would see during the day. We were rested from our exhausting day in Italy. Now fully prepared and breakfasted, we were ready to take a ship's tour of Nice and St. Paul De Vence. After a short smooth tender ride into the port of Cannes, and were boarded onto a large modern bus that would take us to the neighboring city of Nice. Nice is the largest city on the French Rivera and St. Paul De Vince is a ...
Cannes, Provence, France gianliguori... wine and only a small portion of that ever makes it to the US. Sadly, our time in Cannes ended too quickly. On our way out, I took another Surf Taco entry- in front of the Grand Palais with the red carpet- the site of the Cannes Film Festival. Steve and I want to come back here again to enjoy more cycling and beach. We left early on a Saturday morning to get to our next destination- Lago De Como, Italy and check out George Clooney's digs!!
Cannes, France, France kcassaro... a small fishing village called Vernazza right on the coast. That's where I will be by the time you read this. I heard its beautiful. Its Rick Steves favorite place to go in Italy. Oh yea, can anyone tell me what happend on May 1 back in USA. Did all the Mexicans go on strike? What happened, did no one get their lawn mowed, or house cleaned? Just kidding! I havent seen a TV in almost a month. email me back and let me know... jaredtennant@tmo.blackberry.net
