We were invited out with some of the staff on Tuesday night to Laowi Town to a quiz night which was good fun. We then met Silvie, the CP at Munchner Biergarten, the German bar on Wednesday and the Italian restaurant Thursday evenings.

Ningbo is a lovely city, built on 5 rivers, so was a trading post and from the hotel room you can watch the barges go up and down the river. There are loads of fantastic bars and restaurants and it is now quite trendy.

It's a kids Disneyland! Heated indoor pool, a massive equipped art class, woodwork room (with sharp tools and a chainsaw - a bit ...

... did not work in China. I needed cash and my family was supposed to pay me three days ago but had forgotten. I gave them half of what I owed, and said I'd come back on Friday to pay the rest. As I left the fitness center, my body felt paralyzed. I felt as though I had forgotten how to breathe. I quickly pulled myself together and walked back "home." I stopped off for ice cream and sat at the same park that has seen me cry more times in the past week than any human has ...

We left early on Wednesday morning to head for Zhoushan Island (舟山岛). Before heading to the hotel, we went to Mount Putuo (普陀山). Mount Putuo is considered to be the home of Guanyin (a form of Buddha) and is one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism. We were able to walk around and see ...
