The landlady is very friendly, and although her English is not brilliant – and my Polish not really there – she showed me around. The fridge and drinks-making things in the hall, the bowl of walnuts I could help myself from, how to operate the shaving light in the bathroom, and something about the noise from the street outside, I think.

And I Thought Traveling was Easy
... the information center and he gave me directions. The hostel was not marked well at all and so my troubles didn't end there. I hulled my bags up what seemed like 7 flights of winding stairs only to find out I was in the wrong place. Finally two guys asked if I was looking for the hostel and even helped me with my bag (and spoke English!). What a relief.
