Zblizamy sie do lancucha osniezonych gor, ktorymi wije sie autostrada. Szczyty przyproszone bialym pudrem. Przekraczamy lancuch gor, na szczescie pogoda utrzymuje sie. Znow puste drogi, wiec mozemy "gaz do dechy" ;)

Niewazne, kto wymyslil! Wazne, ze szczesliwie jestesmy na miejscu.
Kierujemy sie do Tihany, ktore znajduje sie na malym polwyspie na Balatonem.
Kazdy z nas ma jakies wspomnienia z tych miejsc: z blizszego lub dalszego dziecinstwa.
Pilotuje Marcin, dzieki ktoremu bezblednie trafiamy do celu.
Fajne lokum w wymarlym miasteczku znajdujemy bez trudu... jestesmy jedynymi ...

Tihany is a small peninsula on the northern side of Lake Balaton, it was a 45min bus ride from Balatonfured... The town centre was extremely provincial, with the exception of some very touristy/souvenir shops there was very little else there...

... of dutch guys who were in the cabin next to us and we proceeded to go for more drinks, the bar on the campsite was closing, but the barman filled a 1.5L plastic bottle with red wine from the 'tap'...

On our second night, the guys generiously treated us to a traditonal meal in a local restaurant in the town centre...

... Mira being more bold then me, asking the why-question and a receipt (they only have receipts for 20), manages to have the fine reduced to 20 euro!!! Well done Mira!

By nightfall we are where we want to be for now. On a small(er) campground at the lake. Staying here as long as we need to in a way. Reorganizing the van is top priority. It has been camping out in our own house until now, with things not in place. Does not work well and keeps ...

... off the busy road and to see some nicer neighborhoods and small towns. Once we left the lake however it was similar to the prior day with some additional trials. A guy yelled at us for standing in the road looking at our map despite the fact it was a deserted small town with wide roads and plenty of room to go around. ... turns out to be pretty low on the salad front but they do sell loose potatoes so I'll stock up. Lunch was followed by an exploration of the town without discovering anything of note. Wandering back to the campsite revealed that next to the empty swimming pool were the said thermal pools. Ł1.80 later I was in; its rather basic and spartan with about six other elerly / overweight swimmers ...

I must say that I was somewhat unimpressed by Lake Balaton, although the sight of our elderly, cynical program director stripping down to a speedo for a quick dip was something I won't soon forget. Balaton has a reputation as a huge destination for Hungarians but when we were there the weather was less than ideal and it was pretty much deserted. I think most of the people who voted for the lake regretted their decision.

... naozaj prsať. V silnom nárazovom vetre (miestami máme problém ísť čo i len 10 km/hod) prichádzame východným pobrezím (cesta defacto 2m od brehu lemuje polostrov) k mestu Tihány. Po fotografovaní pokračujeme v rýchlom tempe (average speed 22km/hod) ďalej, pričom sem tam na nás padne kvapka. Doslova utekáme pred búrkou. Polostrov opúsťame ani nie za 33 minút. Na pár minút sa zastavujeme. Problém s malou potrebou je ten, ze stojíme takmer ...
