Our favourite city yet!

We began the day in Robe, which we decided to explore a little more in day light. It was a lovely town, relatively small. We walked along the beach and then decided to go for breakfast in a small cafe. We then visited the local library to update the blog!

We were soon ready to head off and decided to make a dash for Adelaide. The Journey …

A beautiful sunny day so we head off for breakfast and then walk to the General Market. The displays of fruit and veg are amazing, both in the quantity and quality but also in the care taken over the displays. One chap was setting out bunches of bananas and he took time with each bunch to pare off the tip of the stalk to make it look tidier! You …

    Wonderful

    from anonymous

Beautifully furnished, well equipped spacious rooms in a central location with really helpful, pleasant staff. Incredible value for money.

    Good decor and central location

I stayed 5 nights in the Allegra on a business trip. Very nice and clean rooms. Good-size indoor swimming pool in heart of the city. Only drawback was the acoustic isolation - both to neighbouring rooms and to the street (which is normally quiet but there was construction work going on outside while I was there). The breakfast was also sub-standard.

    Extremely Impressed

    from anonymous

Our stay at the Rendezvous Allegra was extremely enjoyable. The rooms are very spacious and luxurious. The bathroom is incredible! Our room also had a balcony with views of the City..superb. Our dinner and breakfast in room was first class. Service was faultless and staff were very friendly. The pool area was fantactic as well. We have stayed in a lot of 5 star accomodation but the Rendezvous Allegra really is 5 star!

    Disappointing

    from anonymous

It is not a4 or 5 star hotel.

    The hotel room was dusty.

In our bathroom there was no bath mat. The shower was mouldy and the hand basin dirty. There was no hair dryer either.

The room service dinner was cold when it should have been hot.

The cleaners overlooked our floor on Sunday until evening.

But the front office were pleasant and the breakfasts were good.

    Wonderful experience

    from roo

I accompanied a group of twelve people who booked into this hotel in Feb 2005 and we all had a marvellous experience. The staff, service and decor were all top notch. We stayed two nights initially, then took a 2-night tour of Kangaroo Island, returning to the hotel for one additional night. Upon our late return, our "left luggage" was already placed in our assigned rooms waiting for weary travellers. What a nice touch! Would highly recommend the hotel because it's location in the CBD couldn't be beat...did not find traffic noise a problem at all. There is major building construction nearby and even the rooms on that side of the hotel were not bothered by extra noise. Just remember the bathroom has one wall that is entirely glass, and looks out onto the beds and sitting area!

LOVELY TO LOOK AT, BUT ....

    from duggie

We stayed here last year. Very modern fit-out - particularly nice bathroom and the lifts are beautiful. However, we found the reception staff very cold and had to find someone to valet park our car after every trip - and it's not cheap! The breakfast was disappointing - exactly the same every day. The place was obviously used mainly by business trade, but is close to the city centre and should do good tourist numbers too. We wouldn't go back - we like to feel welcomed and didn't on this trip.

    Rendezvous Allegra in Adelaide

    from vosse

Fabulous location near the Central Market & Gouger 'Eat' St ... the executive spa suite is spacious & the bathroom & bedroom luxuriously appointed although not many 'extras' - remember to take a robe! .....

staff friendly but any type of room service was slow. Overall, would recommend - good value if using great internet rates!

The Adelaide Rendez-vous Allegra could be better

    from monacoguy1

I stayed at the Adelaide Rendez-Vous Allegra for 4 days in August 2003.

The hotel is brand new. The rooms look good, very trendy modern style.

Richard, the receptionist who checked me in was excellent. He took the time to give me advice on things to do, places to go etc... Very friendly.

The rug of the room was pretty dirty although the hotel is new. After walking on the rug with my white socks for one hour my socks were black underneath. I assume that they do not know what shampooing the rug means.

The rooms are noisy because the windows are not soundproofed and the hotel is right in the center of the city. Lots of traffic noise. It is a shame that when they built the hotel they did not make the expense to soundproof the rooms. Otherwise the rooms would be super since they are really nicely decorated.

My room was not cleaned twice, in spite of my hanging the adequate sign outside the door requesting service from the housekeepers, and even the second time calling the guest services to let them know that I was leaving the room .

The curtains are cheap: basically plastic, and they let the day light in as they do not adjust properly. It seems that they had no more money to finish the hotel and they did cheap windows and cheap curtains!

Could be perfect if the above mentioned problems were solved.

    Allegra A-1 in Hospitality !

    from anonymous

As a member of Club Rendezvous here in Perth I was keen to try out the new premises in Adelaide, and was not disappointed. Stylish and up-market in design and fittings, Allegra offers First Class accommodation and friendly service in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of the Central Markets, Victoria Square, Rundle Mall and all forms of transport. Dining is a gourmet experience in their Glasshouse Restaurant, with all-day dining available from the same menu on room service. We enjoyed swimming above the driveway each morning in the lap-pool ! Hot spa, sauna and gym are spotless and well supplied with towels. Staff and service rate as excellent in my books, and only the fact of their having but one restaurant limits my overall rating. However, with the abundance of nearby eateries of all descriptions, this will in no way diminish the enjoyment of a sojourn at Allegra. King-sized beds with feather doonas and multiple lighting effects ensure cozy nights, large marble bathrooms with adjustable showers take care of hygeine enjoyably and we loved the choice offered by the Pillow Menu. As yet Club Rendezvous is not set up there, but it would be worth checking out their E-Club for good deals.

    Rendezvous has stunning decor

    from anonymous

What a beautiful hotel in the heart of Adelaide. Our Executive Spa Suite was spacious, with gorgeous decor. I loved the marble bathroom in particular. The facilities were great, with a heated pool and spa, and small gym. The buffet breakfast was beautiful, and staff were helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant menu didn't offer many vegetarian options, and this is my only complaint (oh, they didn't have any toothpaste left either!!) Overall, if you are looking for luxury and lovely surroundings (check out the water display at the front entrance), then this hotel is ideal. Reasonably priced too!
