Well where do I start with Innsbruck! How about ... This place rules! You hop off the train and you're surrounded by mountains and snow and happy people and laughter and beautiful blond women AND beer. Oh wait and there's more, the hostel I stayed in 'Doug's Mountain Getaway' just so happens to be the coolest place I've ever stayed. ... to a spectacular day of fine weather and views. Phil wandered a little further to the top to views over the other ranges. After a bit of a wander around and a few pictures we ventured back down to the lower level where there was a BBQ, an outdoor bar and lots of people taking in the fine conditions on outdoor tables and deck chairs. ... in his mouth all decked out- we really did look like tourists but we didn't care.

We stopped for lunch at the restaurant at the top of the mountain, and yes Anne, l did get to have goulash soup. I laughed at the coat hooks which were deer horns- very clever.

A very sad day

We woke up this morning to the news that our very dear friend Mark Hatt passed away yesterday afternoon, after a long battle with lung cancer. The world has lost a very, very good man, and our hearts go out to his wife, our dear friend Jennifer Alsop, his children, Alex, one of Elizabeth's best friends, and three year old Ben, and all of his family and friends.

Amazing! King Ludwig II was crazy but he has an amazing castle that was made for him. The weather was not the best but the castle was impressive non the less. Went inside but no pictures of course. For it's massive size the castle is not finished! King Ludwig died (possibly murdered) before it was finished so they stopped production. Beautiful view that I will alway ...
