A Day in Wine Country
The hotel concierge hooked me up with a wonderful day long tour of the Wine Country. I requested a smaller group tour in a van, versus a huge bus. I prefer traveling in smaller groups, or no groups at all, if feasible. The van picked me up at the hotel early that morning and away we went!
The Wine Country is absolutely beautiful. I fell …
The City & Night Walk Across the Bridge!
Today was spent touring the city, starting with Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory where I got my chocolate fix and some extra energy. I toured Chinatown and bought a knockoff Burberry purse and matching wallet. Later that evening, I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and back. It was incredibly windy and got really dark by the time I was back, so I …
Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 & Harbor Cruise
As soon as I arrived in San Fran and checked into the hotel, I headed to the Fisherman's Wharf to eat a sourdough bread bowl full of tasty clam chowder. I booked a harbor cruise so I could get a little history of San Fran as well as my bearings on the lay of the land. I recommend a tour such as this on the front-end of any trip to a new city. It …
One Day in San Francisco
I planned my trip to Thailand via San Francisco so that I could attend the One Laptop Per Child OLPC Community Summit there October 21-23 2011. I arrived Thursday night from Boston. My meeting starts today at 5:00PM so I have one day to wander in San Francisco.
I chose to stay at the Stanford Court Renaissance as I am Marriott brand loyal …

Wakey, Wakey
So our alarms started going off at 5am and it was at about this moment when we realized the only one of us that had actually slept was April. In our tightly packed room it was me, E and April in the King sized bed, and then Jackie slept …

TravelPod Member ReviewsRenaissance Stanford Court San Francisco
Great accomodations and helpful staff! Clean and 5 star service. The hotel is beautifully appointed and convenient to many things in San Fran. The concierge can help you book tours. We booked our wine country tour through the hotel. We were unable to book a tour of Alcatraz due to our schedule and the only day we could tour, they were sold out - so book early! if you are on a tight schedule. Especially on weekends.

Historical Traveler Reviews Renaissance Stanford Court San Francisco
Nice stay overall
Stayed three nights, Thurs thru Saturday. Great location intersecting all three cable car lines atop "Snob Hill". Service was good overall, though my first contact person upon checking in was not particularly friendly or accomodating. She tried to put me in a Queen bed cubicle of a room, and wouldn't really budge from this until I showed her that my written confirmation guaranteed a King Bed room. At that point She finally brought out her supervisor who was considerably friendlier and found a much better King bed room for the three nights. Otherwise no major complaints, though I've stayed at nicer and friendlier places in S.F. and wouldn't necessarily run back here.
Very classy hotel with great staff
This is a very comfortable hotel. Understated elegance with many very thoughtful touches. Towel warmers, complimentary coffee delivered to your room, 24 hour room service. The staff were all very helpful and courteous. The location is the best next door to the Fairmount and Mark Hopkins. Great stay.
Perfect Location
An elegant, charming hotel with Asian influences. I thought are room was quite large for a room in a big city (but I am a NYer) . The bed and linens was the most comfortable hotel bed ever. We had a wonderful view of the cable car lines intersecting and the bay in the distance.
It was a very long walk from the elevator to our room, but its an old hotel and we are young : )
Great Nob Hill location
Convenient Nob Hill location, in the middle of all 3 cable car routes. Rooms are fairly compact, but make up for it in fine Egyption cotton sheets. Our first front desk person was a little snobby, but all others were professional and friendly. Great room service.
Great location and excellent staff.
I would definitely recommend staying at the Stanford Court Hotel. The location was excellent (on intersection of cable car lines), the staff are professional and the rooms were above average but nothing to write home about. We were on the 6th floor looking into the courtyard. Pricey to park but that's San Fran.
Great hotel
Its a great hotel....the staff is amazing and mostly friendly. Its elegant, nice rooms and the food its great. I will stay there againg.
The Best
Everytime we visit San Fran we stay at the Stanford. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary there and this week will celebrate our 20th anniversary there! Can't wait!
Fantastic Experience
Great Hotel. Food was wonderful. Overall best experience in San Francisco
What a wonderful hotel
I just returned from a business trip. The company booked us at the Stanford Court and I have to say it was one of the best hotels ever. The service was prompt and friendly. The rooms were lovely and well detailed. The complimentary coffee delivered to my door with my wake up call was wonderful. (It came with a pitcher of cream, not that powdered stuff) I didn't want to leave. I felt very pampered. I can't wait to go back.
The Standford Court Hotel
Great internet value, wonderful location, well away from the insanity of Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, yet easy walking to nearly everything of interest (if you run with your retired racing Greyhounds daily). Their breakfast lemon souffle pancakes with raspberries and raspberry sauce is really "world class"!
