we only rode 25 miles, but we visited 2 high schools- Dallas Co High School and Autagua High School. What a hoot! The students were so excited to see us and get free t-shirts and plastic armbands with the Five Points of LIfe logo. The kids were practically jumping off the bleachers to get the goodies. We have such a good bunch of people working for us. Our support crew " the best cat-herders in the business" treat us so well. We are staying at this Renaissance Hotel and Spa- this hotel is one...

... fun. After the show, we went to lunch with the crew at the wonderful hometown restaurant next door called Lunde's. They stayed open past their normal lunch hours just for us. I had a fried catfish po'boy, and was full for the rest of the day. The guys then invited us to their house this Saturday on our drive up to Decatur, AL from New Orleans. We'll see if we make it, but I bet it would be fun if we do.
While it felt a bit irreverent, we were welcomed to stand at his pulpit and look out over the pews, as he once did. Wow....what a chill went up my spine when I stood there, put my hands on the sides of the podium, and looked out.

Next, we went over to the Southern Poverty Law Center and looked ...

Long halls, huge kitchen, formal and informal living rooms and dining areas The house reflects generations of family and love and life. Beautiful appointments with stories behind every piece. I especially loved getting the garden tour of her home. It is Suzy’s own rain forest jungle!! From the patio to the greenhouse and vegetable garden the ...

When Marney heard it was to come on the market, she bought it and dove right in to make it fit her lifestyle. Marney changed walls and location of rooms and has given this wonderful old homestead a new lease on life. The workmanship is wonderful as it is clever in design and function. Reflecting her sense of color and the marrying ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States jodieandandy... More later..

Once in Montgomery I decided to take a ride through town. I'm glad I did. I visited the state capital and the church that Martin Luther King preached at. More importantly that same church was the meeting point for many of the rallies in support of the the bus boycott which was sparked by Rosa Parks. I also visited the Rosa Parks museum and the spot where the bus bench sat.

I also rode by the first white house the Jefferson ...

I thought maybe I should bow. The restaurant (or hall for dining) was near closing but they let us sit - not many Northerners come around and they're curious. Of the meal, the Fried Pickles, Onion Rings with cheese and Sweet Potato Fries were very good. Moby's was wrapping up a baby shower when ...

Worth a quick look, while you are here, although the self-guided tour (i.e. brochure to read as you walk through the house) focusses mainly on who donated which piece of furniture to the display. Just two blocks down the road - but don't worry, when the lady at the "white house" pointed us in the right ...

That smell, coupled with unidentified flying objects coming off of balconies, fights breaking out and my fear of attack from Harry's compadres, led me to my room! Of course, in the hotel it weren't all quiet by a long shot! One man caught his girlfriend down the hall in flagrant delecto with some guy, another man argued about ...
