My first flight took me to Dubai and I was as good as the gold that covers the city. The key is to eat little and sleep not before boarding (This can be achieved in several ways - my mum decided to take me into work for a visit earlier that day, which had the desired effect...I was too traumatized to sleep and it put me off my food - no offense my Nacco lovelies!). Anyway, I took a pew, stuffed my face and was sleeping before take off, woke up for a couple of hours, glared at the crybaby to m...

... also asked the other man sat down to move. I am guessing that men and women are not allowed to sit next to each other because she now had 2 seats for herself!
The driver told that the only way to get to Atlantis was to take a cab from the Dubai College stop which I did. Atlantis is a very nice building but I was not that impressed by it. I then went into the shopping avenues under the hotel which has a giant aquarium all along.
I then grab a ...
... that the metro is currently being build and not all station are operating. So the next station took me all the way back towards the Burj area to the Mall of the Emirates.
I had some food, had a look around and realised that Dubai Ski was situated in this mall so the good news was that I knew where to go the next day.
I got the metro to Al Rigga station which did not look to far from the hostel but when I got there people advised me to take a cab. I decided ...
... able to check-in; they told me that I had to leave the area or they would take me to jail which I thought was ridiculous so I told them to take me if they wanted. At this point they weren’t very sure what to do. They eventually left and I stayed with the local for a couple of hours. I apologised to them if I created any trouble but they said it was no problem at all so I am not exactly sure what happened. I was talking to a ...
Dubai, Dubayy, United Arab Emirates alexhuchet... there were "Ramadan Kareem" signs on store windows and Ramadan sales/discounts, but it wasn’t as widespread or materialistic as Christmas seems to be now.
I sat down in what would normally be a café area and, as luck would have it, had a power outlet right next to me. I also got a free wireless connection---woo hoo! I sent a few more emails and booked my cars for Oman (car at first, then 4WD) since I didn’t want to rely on ...
... to be there for landing, fabulous!!! We were both accompanied towards the baggage claim by the Captain and Safety Pilot. They left us at the Transit exit as they were not actually entering Dubai. Once again I had an emotional good bye but didn't feel too bad as I noticed Liz was in much the same state. Onwards now towards home, it already seems a long time since we left Armenia. Much love to all, Marion XXXX

Dubai, United Arab Emirates epcim... but not in the way you might imagine. Its just windy at nights, and you might require a long sleeve as appose to just a t-shirt. My last entry was about the sand dunes of Doha. I have not been there since, therefore I do not have anymore dune stories. However, this entry I will be telling you about my Dubai trip. A week into my Doha trip I planned to go to Dubai for 3 nights and 4 full days. My flights were scheduled for the morning of the ...
Dubai, United Arab Emirates jacoba... EuropeLand, AfricaLand, official race course, gigantic spa, hot air balloons, space travel simulation, life sized dinosaurs in their own park, Space City, indoor skiing (with apartments in the snow), and 60 hotels and apartment buildings all encompassed within. After Stacy and I visited here we struggled to think what this place DOESNT have. If you can think of any other crazy idea, just assume it's already been thought of and will most likely will be there.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates travelbee... the good work. My Macroeconomics class was just how I expected, its Macroeconomics how adventurous can it be? Funny thing is only about half the students in my Arabic class are from America/Canada/England, but I'm the only Westerner in my Macroeconomics class. In other news, my phone finally briefly worked today, I've tried calling several different places and I got through to a Burger King ...
