After an exhausting weekend of packing, re-packing and re-packing again, we closed down the Florida home including putting down the hurricane shutters, jumped in a rental car about 10:00 p.m. and headed to Miami to catch a 11: 50 a.m. Tuesday morning flight from Miami via Houston via London and on to Brussels. The plan on arrival in Brussels is to …

A pleasantly uneventful first day of travel...on the train from Baltimore to NYC (actually starting our journey on the afternoon of Sunday 9/1) then on to Paris (I ❤ you American Airlines business wined us and afforded us 4 hours of valuable sleep!). We arrived at our hotel via the Air France bus, a reliable, comfy and cheap …

... morphed into the Eiffel Tower. I thought of co-workers and smiled. I got a discount for my ticket up because I tried really hard to speak French to the ticket guy. I believe I said "hello, how are you - ticket for 1 please". He asked how old I was and made me show him my US drivers license - clearly not a student - but I got student rate :) History Lesson: built from 1806 to 1836, the Arc de Triomphe (now shortened to AdT) was built ...

... got to listen to a few songs sung by a choir front and center. After spending quite a bit of time at Notre Dame appreciating its history and beauty, it was only a short walk over to the Louvre Museum. On our walk over, we had to get our first freshly made street crepe. YUM! I'll add some nutella and bananas to mine please! The Louvre, like Notre Dame, is another one of the famous sights to see in Paris. It is the museum ...

At first I thought you had to buy tickets even if not going to the top but a second go round confirmed you could just come up in the outside area at ground level so we did. We are here when the sun is shining ...

Hotel for the Young Jet Set

This is a contemporary hotel that is geared to the younger jet set. It has a contemporary feel down to the Navigators ( employees) who wear tight hip jeans as their work attire. The service is lacking in some aspects like room service and cleaning. It has a friendly staff who are well-informed about the local sights.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the rooms are very spacious. The hotel is very beautiful and everyone is very welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to others and come back again.
