... is a very complex city there are streets
behind streets that turn into their own neighborhoods – it's a
maze—often times a city inside a city. We had a great time
catching up, drinking some beer, and walking around the extremely
chaotic Shibuya district. What was even more amazing was seeing the
number of Japanese – completely hammered - but somehow being able
to stay somewhat upright on the train. Fun Day!

Tokyo, Kanto, Japan carlaandmike... so. there was a sword shop and tim bought some bag like thing to put a sword in. the swords were hand made, a new one, not the old ones which would be more than a new one, cost 8,000 dollars. so much for that souvenier!
we took an above ground train (the kind with no human conductor, computerized) to sumida pier, where we got on a boat and took a ride down the summida river to the stop that was about 5 minute wlk from our ryokan.
we ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan bethannk... the average walking speed of a typical Japanese person. With that in mind, I headed out into the dark alleys arounbd the train station. The directions were right, good thing I decided to follow them for once and I was at the dorm in 10 minutes. Remember that when you are in Asian countries. I think they all tend to mosey rather than walk so their walking time estimates are a bity on the high side.. Dashing for the train. Later
tokyo, Japan donmiller... stage show. Each show went for about 10 minutes, and the first one starred Mickey, Donald and Goofy, and the second show after a short break starred Chip and Dale and Donald Duck. I'm not sure how many of these shows they put on, as we left after the 2nd show. Quite a nice little bonus though. After a few more rides of some of the rides we had already been on, we made it out to the centre lake area, just in time for the ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan halinkoHello all, We've been in Japan for almost a week now and we've slowly become accustomed to the crazy bustling ways of this country, if that's possible! The first night took a little adjusting with nothing being familiar. The trek to our hostel covered both some crazy night market and the silence of a dark residential district. With ...
Tokyo, Japan sfks... all over the place. Once I had built up the courage to attempt the Tokyo subway again I took the tem minutes trying to de sheath my umbrella and muscled my way underground. After a usual confused journey on the subway I emerged in the district of Akihabara! Now this is the place for all your geeky needs, known as electric city Akihabara is the place to go if you want anything electrical From computers to something that looked like an electric ...
Tokyo, Japan jedsterr... i think i may have mentioned that previously. Yesterday I checked out the sony building, which has all sorts of demos and displays of future tech they are working on, like the PS3, and some blue ray dvd disk etc... Then i went and watched a baseball game at 6pm Which was pretty cool just for the fact that the best baseball I've seen lately was the cough cracker cats. Last nights game was one of a series of games that pit the MLB stars vs the japanese stars, At the Tokyo ...
Tokyo, Japan senorbrian... behave. Shoes are never worn in houses, loud voices in streets are not tollerated after 11pm, everything has its place and people are generally very trusting and friendly (beer is available 24hours from vending machines on the streets and underage drinking is not a problem, somthing I couldn`t see happening in England). This attitude did enable us to always pay half price for tickets on the tube by claiming `we didn`t realise we were buying childrens' tickets,` and getting student ...
Tokyo, Japan eggsontour... fireworks before, I had particular trouble with some of the sparklers. For some reason I could not figure out which end to light on some of them! I had to employ the help of a younger boy, who immediately set me right. The fireworks were much fun, and we came home at around eleven. + Getting lost in Osaka: On Sunday morning, Yusuke took me to downtown Osaka where our hotel was located in order to drop off my bags. After I had dropped off my bags, we walked around the ...
