( this practise is shunned upon so we have to dry overnight ) Breakfast was at 10.30 , I don't how we fell into this trap of late starts and late evenings but it sure shortens your day . We drove 20 minutes south to the seaside town of Pula ...

... and St Helen church (with 15th century triptych and beautiful rose windows. It is a small place with a nice beach and places to walk and eat.

During couple of days we visited some other towns on the island which, throughout its history, was occupied by Frankish, Byzantine, Venetian – who left their footprint on its architecture and art.
