... push through. They also advised me to stay indoors while the typhoon was raging.

A bit anxious, I peeked at the street from my window and saw that the water in the street below my room had started to rise to ankle’s level. Minutes later, I noticed that the traffic barely moved and heard the sound of sirens. It occurred to me that the volume of water Ondoy dumped all over Metro Manila must have been heavy. At that moment, I ...

Quezon City, Luzon, Philippines deadventurious... for the electric yet lols.

Next is Flora's work, she works the graveyard Monday-Friday so this affects our eating habits as well!! I try to emulate her waking hours and eating times as much as possible so that we get more time together but I must say its a bit tougher than simply arriving here and changing timezones, still we seem to be managing ok but I am rapidly reading my stockpile of charity books I brought with me, but there is hope I also brought ...
Quezon City, Luzon, Philippines deadventurious... It's also darned nice to be able to communicate everywhere in English, read and understand signs, menus and ingredients of snack foods. Dale has a gas barbeque on the balcony and it's been a pleasant task to be able to cook some of our own meals. These of course have been greatly enhanced by Dale's wine selections. In a day or so we are off to the tourist town of Tagaytay, and will report from there.
Manila, Luzon, Philippines out-of-nanoose... massage but it's not what you're thinking); some even have ice-rinks and bowling alleys. Every weekend they seem to have some kind of show going on for the kids and/or teenagers, not to mention the exhibits. Of course you've got to have the theaters, and game arcades, more like the boardwalk in Point Pleasant than a small store front. And of course they have piped in music, most of which seems to be from some kind of time ...
Manila, Luzon, Philippines rjdemp... sugar and shredded cheese on top. I find I think about them way too much. They call my name whenever I walk by a Goldilocks or Red Ribbon store and I have to look the other way when I see packages of them at the supermarket. It's very surprising to me that I enjoy them so much when there is not an ounce of chocolate in them. I thought all good ...
Manila, Luzon, Philippines rjdemp... who might have some idea where we were going. After another two cab rides and one Took-took we got back to the ship, just as the transport from the sports ground was arriving. It was 2330. Day two Manila complete - Skin grows back, bones heal and chicks dig scars. Day three. What do you think I am, Crazy. I didn't leave the ship. Did my washing, ate my food and jumped at all loud noises. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to have a well deserved nervous breakdown. Love Bruce (Jock)
Manila, Luzon, Philippines jock298... Beijing because I have friends there. To go to Beijing from Changchun, there are many options to choose from. You can go by air which is the easiest way, about two hours and half. Air China or China Southern can be an ideal airline. You have to consult your travel agents if so, or it depends on your style and purpose while staying in China. You can also take by bus going to Beijing. There are many buses also going to and from Beijing. All you ...
Quezon City, Luzon, Philippines rbenotapaManila snuck up on me. Lurking at the back end of January, it took me by surprise. I had planned to spend the whole year exploring Korea, but had been unprepared for the frigid drudgery of the Korean winter. So I had booked a flight to Manila, but made no other concrete plans. The moment I was aboard the plane I fell asleep, and when I awoke Manila had snuck up on me. The airport was awash with colour, as was the country beyond it. The diversity, the vibrancy ...
