    ... t seem to fancy.

We felt very privileged and were treated very well in the ryokans, I'll miss Japan.

We also enjoyed the 7 samurai home village, with bonsai and the intriguing kanakasi airplane fighters museum with photos of all of them. They looked so young and an old man giving a talk about it, still a lot of interest, after all these decades. No photos allowed.

... place across the road so I darted off to buy some. Not as large and not as tasty as the ones at the roadside diner that Shigeki took us to.

We were back on board the SL Yamaguchi-go and left Tsuwano by 3.48pm. We got back to Shin-Yamaguchi station by 5.30pm to relieve Takako of her luggage sitting duties. The bus arrives and it's only about 3/4 full so that's excellent, well worth the extra cost because we have a seat and we will not end up squashed and ...

    One goes to a volcano

A travel blog entry by dizzyseren on Aug 08, 2014

I have no plan but I've had a lovely sleep in my lovely little room and wake up quite late. My washing has dried thanks to the amazing person who pulled it in from the rain. So I have clean clothes!! Quite frankly they were so gross I wouldn't speak to me if I had the choice. My only plan is to walk to the train station and catch the first train I can use my pass on. This is kashishma . I know there's a volcano there. The trip down is nice, I love the Shinkansen. I should ...

Forced Here but Loved the Place!

As the title suggests, my two Swiss friends and I were sort of forced to visit Kagoshima! Basically, Kagoshima was the only city in Kyushu which had any space in a hostel for three people during the time we wanted to visit Kyushu! In the end it worked out quite well because we wanted to visit Miyazaki and Nagasaki, so we thought we might as well start at Kagoshima and head North or as Drake puts it, start from ...
