We took the train to Hakone Yumoto station about an hour and half away. After a short walk along the river to let Will get the wiggles out, we hopped a bus to Moto Hakone on Lake Ashi. The bus twisted and turned as it climbed from 250 ft to 2300 ft.elevation. The scenery was stunning and vibrant with the fall foliage. I'm beginning to believe that ...

... real estate with quaint houses and lots of restorations going on. Nowhere to park on the small blocks so they are quite adept at parking in the smallest of spaces.

The beach is big wide south facing, but the sand is talcum powder grey.
It was very busy being Sunday but you could get away from the crowds by going to the back streets and we enjoyed just seeing how the locals lived.

We were up earlier today as we had to pack a day bag and make arrangements to get the rest of our bags to be shipped to our hotel in Kyoto. The tour company printed the instructions for shipping our bags in Japanese so the guy at the front desk understood exactly what we wanted and where they needed to go which was nice. We had the western breakfast again today as I still didn't feel like braving the rice porridge. I have a feeling there will be many more opportunities ...
