... and left for the District of Columbia. Arrived at 5:30am, so a four hour drive, got some sleep on the way, not much though. Once there grabbed a Starbucks and headed for the Mall and got some great shots of the Capitol Building right on the break of dawn. The Mall has all the main sites of Washington DC and it is definitely worth the walk, but I'd say allow the whole day in order just to take in the sites without visiting the museums. ... was a statue of 3x US nurses tending to a wounded soldier denoting the different races of the US once again. There is one nurse who is kneeling behind with her head hung, bearing the weight of the war on her shoulders for all of the women at home who have husbands or sons fighting the war.
