As we were there taking pictures, a young teen says "this is cool but who is he" Really????? OMG, if I had been her teacher, she would get an F and be repeating U.S. History. July 4th Across the Nation

The little island of Kauai has as rich a 4th of July celebration as any other part of the U.S. and when I consider all this island state went through in WW II, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the resulting battles that were waged, I felt a pride for our American military and a deep respect for the men whose lives were lost on December 7, 1941.

WE MADE IT !
After a gruelling 25+ hours travelling, we were so glad to finally settle in to the hotel last night ! I don't think I'd do it again. It was such a confusing experience - after giving us lunch at 3pm on the Sydney to Dallas flight, they started to bed us down for the night at 5pm! All the windows shutters were closed, the lights turned off, and everyone very unsuccessfully tried to go dutifully to sleep. People were wandering up and down the ailses all "night" - it was like Rundle ...
