... Dustin is away at a conference so just Carly and the kids here. The place is heaven for the kids. They enjoyed running around picking and eating raspberries and blackberries and checking out the spring water swimming pool (complete with 18 degree water and frogs) until almost 10pm. Eventually we got them all to sleep so the grown ups could enjoy a glass of wine and compare notes on the fun and challenges of travelling with young kids. ...

The phone arrives the next morning. Unfortunately, it also arrives with a bill for 35 Euro. My heart breaks as I realise that we have spent almost $70 on a phone which would be better used as a toaster. Clearly, this could not be allowed to happen again. Friday 27th june
Staying in a city overnight is a bit like being tied up downtown auckland, street lights, people, fighting cats, etc make it less idyllic. We chose to stay here as we can get power and water and we need to charge all our devices, not just for Internet use, but for photo and video.
