Yesterday We tendered into the French village of Terre-de-Haut and wandered around this quaint, very French little community on the island of Guadeloupe. the island was smattered with electric cars and motor bikes and i rather fancied hitting the streets in these little electric Smart cars but we seemed to have left our run a little late, following the arrival of the local ferry which saw the little village swarming with Caribbean ...

... didn't care and hate complainers. My response "I’m not a shopper”. She didn’t bother me again.

We then took the equivalent of a local police ferry to be dropped at the pier of the hotel. Upon arrival, complainer was already starting. We were shown to a tiny pool with maybe 12 chairs, a small beach and were told they were setting up a cake and drinks. A cake? At first we selected the 12:30 ...

... with Guadeloupe is that it's a French speaking nation so if you don't speak French you can find yourself stranded somewhere.. or that was my fear... also they only take Euros which Cristina had told me but I thought we could get some onboard, as it turns out we couldn't! There were a lot of conflicting reports about walking around the port/town area, some said it was dirty and they felt unsafe and others said they didn't have any problems so I wasn't taking any ...

5/2 I got up early and walked up to Fort Napoleon about 350ft above the harbour. I was just ahead of about 4 ferry loads of tourists coming over from Guadeloupe, but behind 1 ferry.
