As the day was supposed to be a pleasant hike (14km, 2500ft) and feeling bad about missing the Fenetre d'Arpette the day before, we bumped into some fellow travellers who said they were heading to the col de Balme as well but rather were going via the Chalet de glacier. We were all ready to head out when Tali informed us she had been experiencing a bout of travellers flu... We decided to play it safe and postpone our departure for Lavachey for a while. Woke up to another beautiful day. Hotel Pavillon had been excellent and a great place to relax for the night. Dinner was a 5 course meal with great wine to celebrate harriet's birthday.
