... Buffet the night before I left. Me and all of my sisters were there which was good as the next time I see them will be one week before my sisters wedding at a bridesmaid dress fitting!!! ... it allowed us to gather things without having to be concerned about weight or the limiting size of our bags, now the car is gone we have to get back to 23kg per bag and 7kg for each piece of hand luggage. Next week we head off to Geneva en route to Russia, so we'll need to have it all sorted out by then.

... side, and the town of Chamonix sprawled beneath us on the other side. The second Gondola ride was better as we positioned ourselves at the front of the Gondola and made sure both the boys could see out the windows.

When we arrived it was -10 degrees Celsius and the view from the top was spectacular. It was such a crystal clear day and we could see so far into the distance that we could see Switzerland, Italy and France from the one spot. Breathtaking doesn't even come close ...

... It went through tunnels cut through rock and over viaducts. We got glimpses of Chamonix and the valley down below as we chugged up the mountain. The boys were so very excited to be on such an amazing adventure.

When we got to the top to Montveners, which is 1913m above sea level, there was a little station and a historical old hotel, which was opened in 1880. We could see the incredible glacier winding its way down ...
