        ... hotels here as well, but it is not quite as exclusive as Cannes. The beach in both towns is a pebble beach, but Cannes imports large amounts of sand each summer to ensure a sandy beach, while Nice makes due with the natural pebbles.

        ... br> First stop:. The little corner grocery less than a block from the hotel for snacks (waffles). Second stop: A bike & triathlon shop a few blocks away, close to the casino.         ... the umbrellas of all shapes and sizes and the ponchos. From Pisa we head off again to the French Riveria. First stop- Monaco. The scenery is amazing along the way. We see many of the mountains where they quarry the marble, much of which is sent all over the world today. Huge blocks of white and coloured marble all waiting for cutting and transport make n awesome sight. The mountains look like they have snow on them but it is just the colour of the marble.
