Tuesday 19 August

Still cool, but with sunny intervals. Decided to stay an
extra night here, to explore the local area.

Spent the morning housekeeping. Afternoon ride into
nearby, lakeside town of Gérardmer. Very pleasant forested, countryside around
here, with pretty chalet type houses. Lots of walks and cycle rides, with
skiing in the winter ...

... was much the same...the merchandise caravans came through...however we wanted to get as many freebies as possible so this time we were a little more strategic in where we stood.
