... was a terrific idea (one Kev had formulated the previous evening) and so we headed back to the carrefour to buy a baguette and some ham and salad for lunch. ... we had just ridden through. It's an ancient and historic town, well-connected to those rascals, the Dukes of Burgandy. It has lots of gorgeous old buildings, several large and significant ones, and other edifices dating from the pre-Roman and Roman eras, through the medieval and renaissance periods. It's also a walled city, with about half of the battlements, ramparts, and the moat, intact.
