We returned to Beaune with a bevy of great pictures of these quaint and historic places, and then proceeded to pig out on Beef Bourguignon and Coq au Vin at a restaurant downtown. ... Beaune is the Hotel Dieu, a hospice built in the 15th century. Very impressive. We also visited a wine museum housed in a ducal residence from the 16th century, so both the building and its contents we're interesting. The sight of the day was while visiting the Hospice where we saw that a young couple had brought their two juvenile cats along in a shoulder bag. The cats did not seem very happy! ...

... later we were able to look out across a pasture and see the same cows that had produced the very cheese we were eating.
