... playing in the pool. The landscape here is really amazing - very hilly, but lots and lots of little hills. It would've been hard to defend this landscape - you can never see what's coming!! The soil around us seems to be mainly white clay - so a tilled plot looks almost like snow. Yesterday was my birthday and after leaving our beautiful Turin apartment we went and had coffee and Liam had cake, we just had ...

... wineries help me experience a culture? Wineries date back from a long time ago. I will be exploring Italian culture and a way of which many of them made a living. From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

Slight change of plans - we left Roma at 2pm driving out easily - thank you Sarina (Tomtom) and headed for Asti - Guido navigated the autostrada like a champ and no wrong turns thru the crazy Genoa labyrinth of tunnels. Got in at about 9pm and headed out for some sparkles and dinner.
Gianni and Luca looked after Gran and Papa Tuesday morning visiting the local market and exploring the medieval centre of beautiful Asti. Guido and I headed off to attend a family funeral nearby. Sad ...

... the outskirts of town and the vineyards. They were absolutely magnificent. The views were utterly breathtaking. From the green luscious vines that sprawled before us up to the vibrant hills that were then framed by breathtaking snow capped alps. It was truly an unbelievable sight. Every now and then there was a secret vibrant red poppy making it's way up through the ground coverage and I couldn't help but think of home and our ANZACs. We wandered ...
