The weather is cool (40's) and the flowers love it. In the center of town was the original church of its resident priest who became Pope Leo IX in 1049. We left Eguisheim and decided on a whim to drive over the Rhein River to Germany for lunch. We lunched in and walked around the town Breisach-am-Rhein - another old ...

... This had several autumn fruits in it. It truly was delicious. We then had almond ice cream with quince and walnuts. Finally they brought us several chocolate truffles to pick from. We both nursed the bottle of red wine throughout the whole meal. We have never had anything like this before and it was a great experience. We truly treated ourselves.
