Brendon bought a few more picnic supplies and we had a lovely picnic on the hotel terrace with a bottle of Dolcetto from Tenuta Fagnanetto - it was the perfect red wine for a picnic. ... La Citadelle- an old fortress that was used to protect Saint-Tropez back in the 1600’s. I jumped on a tour and learnt all about its history. Turns out it was used as a fortress until 1873 and now it’s just a historical monument that will soon house a museum of local history!.

Sunday we had to wake up even earlier. We met at the bus at 8:30 to head to St. Tropez. This trip was optional and we shared the bus with a group of students from Indiana and Wisconsin. First we were taken to a beach fairly far away from St. Tropez, based on my best guess on my map I think it was the Plage de l'Escalet, which sounds right based on the amount of stairs we had to climb.
