      Come to Como

We arrived in Como after a long drive from Bassano via Verona and the Hertz office to replace, yet again, the GPS. The Neverlost might be the case on the odd occasion that it works, but without it getting lost is actually quite simple. Anyway, we found the office and a very kind man who quickly replaced the unit and we were on our way. Verona had been recommended to us as a place to visit - not sure why. It is a flat industrial city with plenty ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

I have really enjoyed driving along the Mediterranean coast, but heading into the mountains again was nice. There wasn't much traffic on the smaller roads and the weather was still really nice.

I could see snow covered mountains to the West and asume it was the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence area in Southern France. ...

Today we took a fast 1hr boat ride to Como where we spent most of the day. It also allowed us to check how far the train station is from where the boat drops us off on Friday. Got that all sussed as we have to walk to the train station, not quite far enough to taxi. Como is lovely, again lots of lane ways to explore, which we did and walked along the river. Would be great to hire scooters but the European drivers are a bit crazy and I think ...

Morning expresso at Lago Di Como

... I continued towards Lago Di Como and soon saw the first glimpses of the water. I took the first exit and headed down to the shore. There were quite a few people around, but I found a place to park the bike and go for a walk.

After a half an hour stop I headed South along the shore passing through small lakeside villages and looking for a good stop to have ...
