... the mountain it was sunny!
And our meal at Chez David was fab. All four of us had magnificent meals.
We left sadly on Wednesday morning. We won't be back for nine months. It has been such a joy to have friends in this part of France, and the opportunity to speak English! S&S were waiting for a load of sand to arrive in preparation for laying floors at the end of October. When we come back next year, they should be living in their new ...

At the tiny village of Saint-Marie-de-Campan we turned back into the mountains, heading up to the next climb, the Col d’Aspin (1489m). This climb is shorter and less steep than the Tourmalet, and we ride up through shady woodland; the last 5km of the climb are the steepest. A twisting descent took us down to the pretty ...

10.30hrs. Leaving our rest home and heading south to Lourdes. Some 200 miles. The town of hope, healing and prayer. Great journey through the countryside. Fab to drive as roads great. No heavy traffic on the country roads. Cant get over how vast the country is. Very friendly and fun to share a laugh with. Pit stop for lunch in a small town. First one we ...
