    Following the game, a tour of Parma showed us another beautiful northern Italy city with an Old Town City Centre. Dinner was arranged by David our driver at a traditional pizzeria – David has been driving for 20 years and has all the connections we need, especially in Italy. Parma is Davida's hometown and he is very proud to show it off.

    ... dinner or lunch. Per Andreas, an Italian meal typically includes a meat plate( prosciutto for sure), a pasta plate, main course (meat with vegetable), then salad with fruit, dessert. Unfortunately, we did not yet have this information so when the first course was served, we thought we were done, then came the next course, and the next, and the next - you get my drift.

    We did not arrive until after 7:00 p.m.- no problem - in Italy it appears dinner is from 8:00 ...

    ... huge set of pretty iron gates and expectations were rising as we drove up the long ( yes longer than ours) drive, through woodland, past a lake and olive grove to arrive at a huge villa set in gorgeous grounds. A wonderful evening was had luxuriating in the thought of lie ins, no schedule and long lunches. The weather forecast looks amazing for the week, the fridge is full and we have plenty of Limoncello.     ... resident. There are very discreet cameras that take the car number plates and send it straight to the cabierneri/polizia and you are sent a fine if you are there without a permit !!!

    So, as the historic Centre is traffic restricted, best way to get around is on the tredleys. The Tour De Mantova was on for the next 5 days . We cycled around every morning , had our Pausa (lunch and nap break) about midday to 3pm, then back on yer bike and whizzed around again ...
