... on the subway you kinda pretend that the people next to you are not there with no one saying hello or chatting. You have to be quite quiet and just sit still there is no running around and playing beach cricket like we do in New Zealand. About an hour was enough for us and we were off on our travels. ... 8217; We were in ‘first class.’ No wonder the seats were so comfortable. But we had ‘second-class’ tickets. When the conductor reached us we were prepared to move. He check our tickets, stamped them, and motioned it was OK to stay. Wow! He must have had elderly parents!

The scenery was wonderful the entire trip – because, little did we know, but this part of Italy has "Alp-like" mountains and villages perched ...

... century villa in the middle of the Tuscan countryside, fresh croissants and coffee for breakfast, a lovely German Shepherd named Margo who sleeps at the front door and walks us to the gate when we leave and arrive and lovely hosts, an elderly couple Bruno and Fiamennta who are 5th generation owners of the property.

... the same thing, although the waiter recommended a different bottle of wine tonight, but it was all equally as delicious. One last gelati for dessert and I had my favourite flavour combo yet, cioccolato nero and crema, which I think was just rich vanilla. Yum!

The next day we were up for one last delicious Italian breakfast and coffee. I'll be sad to say goodbye to the perfect Italian coffees. Great coffee is sparse in London, and takes some searching out. Ciao for now!

... We had forgotten about 'riposo' the Italian siesta. We wondered whether paramedics were allowed 'riposo' here too, and considered moving over to work. I'm sure we'd fix the language barrier in no time. We went back to some of the shops we had peeked through the windows of on the way down and had a look around.
