... and just how you would imagine an Italian village/town to be.

After a couple of cups of coffee we set off for Parma and arrived at our hotel for the night.

The hotel was located on the north side of the city and the room was probably the best that we had been accommodated in so far.

We dumped our bags and got a taxi into the city ...

Lunch out at La Forchetta - just below our room window! Highlight was the Aubergine parmagiana with smoked cheese. Beautiful old town... Now enjoying the local produce at home with a bottle of ...

I know I was quite near Parma, but I wasn't sure what I was meant to do with it. Chew it for breakfast, carry it home, grate it with the grater I have been carrying for 6 weeks for such an occasion? I declined it graciously.

... classical music being played by real musicians is another.

I pause in a large shady park, just to chill out, and enjoy the vibe. It's nice to not feel rushed, needing to reach a certain place before nightfall I can just sit back and enjoy this place.

As timeless as this place feels, there are changes. A number of African and Arab immigrants relax in the park--including a couple young black fellows, hanging out with a couple of Italian girls. ...
