... at station with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. Quick 40 min trip to Como- out of the flatlands into the mountains. Light rain and a bit cooler. Como is a disappointment- not much to see, but several nice piazza between crowded buildings. The only hotel in town that looked interesting was closed for winter so Tourist office suggested a place in Cernobbio ( sounds like Chenoble) about 6 km away. Terzo Crotto. Lovely 100 year old hotel with big courtyard in quaint little village ...

I tip him generously ...

... think that's where Ben said Oscar will be living for 6 months Ellen??) and decided to take the more local route after we stopped for lunch. After a bite and 40 km on local roads, we opened up our wallets and decided to get back on the toll roads. Saved us 90 minutes and probably a gear box and pair of brake pads. 130km/hr was fun, but the traffic in Italy is a lot different to France. Worlds apart. And busier. We didn't have ...

... the floor was to be mopped. Sometimes it took a good hour or so to get the kitchen in order. After the kitchen, I would either go back to cutting the lavender or help with turning down the rooms. I only turned down the rooms twice during my stay here. It involved assisting with making beds, vacuuming the floors, and cleaning the bathrooms. I felt so far out of my comfort zone. I’m proud that I had accomplished all the tasks assigned to me. I had overcome ...
