... They also served an array of cheeses and charcuterie to accompany the wines, so, bien sűr, we had to have a nibble! We also tried the local sweet treat, canelé de Bordeaux, which we saw being made by the hundred in the window of the canelé shop!

And speaking of wines...we went into a very fine wine shop, L'Intendant Grands Vins de Bordeaux, with a spiral ...

... and had time to take some photos of the outside worthy of a calendar cover!

Then we drove on (most of us asleep and mouths hanging open) to Bordeaux. We toured the main town of Bordeaux which has some impressive buildings - a bit like Austria - I thought. (Of course not on the same scale). The group then had the dinner which was a lot of fun.....

Tomorrow there were not many people ...

... and waded onto the dune bare foot. The temperature was warm, and the sky was cloudless, but the sand was not yet uncomfortably hot on our bare feet. It took us a good half an hour to fully cross the dune. It is deceptively large, as once you walk up the first crest in the hill, there are several others waiting. Opted for a quiet day, explored this sweet village, bought the breakfast baton, went for a lovely walk for a couple of hours, read, listened to Music on my iPod, sketched, watched a woodpecker getting his dinner and generally chilled.
