    ... 17% income tax and the town itself is one of the most well maintained and cared for places we have seen in Italy. It might only be a small country, really it's only a small town, but it is most definitely beautiful. The road from Saturnia to San Marino had to be one of the nicest drives we have done so far.     Today we stayed on the boat! We enjoyed every minute of it! We were going to go to the beach but, we could see it from the boat. The boat also had amenities the beach wouldn't have ( beer, food, toilets). Maybe we're boring...but we needed a day off after our busy cruise so ...

    ... out on what Rimini has to offer!

    So we thought after San Marino we would make an effort to check out Rimini and we are glad we did! The center city used to be an old Roman town that was quite wealthy. We also found a memorial to the Canadian soldiers who liberated the city in WWII. There is still one gate remaining aprox 2000 years old that used to be part of the old city walls.     Ok so San Marino.
    it was a choice of up the road to Florence, about four hours, or over the mountains to San Marino, five hours.
    Obvious really, seen Florence before, and oh those mountains were calling.
    The ride over was just as much fun, just as bendy, and the stops were good too.
    Decided when I got to the top of a hill and saw the views, as there was a restaurant right there, it made sense to stop.
    It was a place called Montefiascone.

    Following Papeete's, we saw Simone and Andrea with the 2 girls that Simone knew. We all joined them for more apperativo. After a while, I grew hungry and ordered ravioli stuffed with ricotto cheese and covered in bolognese sauce..... YES PLEASE! SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD! We sat there for the rest of the night just chatting, eating, drinking and laughing!
