... South along the Adriatic coast for about a hundred miles. We arrived at our hotel just South of the Port town of Ancona in an area known as Portonuovo which has a commanding view of the sea from a bluff. The wind howls up here and should make for a noisy night. The hotel is devoid of people save a few that we saw in the lounge area. Not surprising given both its remote location and the time of year. Very quite except.....for the wind. All in all a very enjoyable day.
With no real fixed plan for the day, we enjoyed a very leisurely morning. After a light breakfast at our B&B we set out to catch the bus to take us to the Marina di Revanna a visit to the Adriatic Sea. In the courtyard of our B&B we ran into the owner and discussed our plans for the day. He suggested we ride bikes, of which he had several to borrow for the day. We woke to a sunny day in Italy today. After breakfast at the hotel in Verona we set out for Ravenna. Ravenna is about hundred miles Southeast of Verona. The drive out of Verona was a bit tricky and took awhile to manage with all the construction in town.
The drive to Ravenna was relaxing as traffic in the highways was fairly light and the drive went quickly. We found our accommodations in Ravenna with little problem. ...

The spagetti primi platti I had was divine and was simply egg spagetti, butter, pepper and flakes of parmesan. Something I have learnt on this trip is that the Italians do not drench their pasta with sauce, the sauce is actually quite sparse.
