... coloured buildings and Gourdes. Being off-season, the towns were deserted and we could walk everywhere without having to jostle with other tourists. Also, to Peter's delight, there were no shops open!

Big excitement in L'Isle this morning when we went out for our morning coffee: a television program was being filmed in the town square. Unfortunately, they didn't need any Aussie extras.

Off to Venice tomorrow.

... in, and luckily he was not there when we were checking out, in fact nobody was there for us to checkout, even though we went during the “hour of checkout.” We had some good laughs the whole time we were there anyways, wondering if we were going to have some surprise visitors during the night….I can thankfully say that was our worst hostel experience we had out of 6 or so hostels and they kept getting better and nicer as we went along the coast.

... Following this, Laura overcame her fear of bikes on the road and we peddled into the city from out campsite, just to fit in with the once again lovely locals. The city was charming, we kissed the frog, visited the Frites Museum (French fries are of coarse a Belgian innovation) and saw Christ's blood. The numerous squares, parks and interlaced canals sets Brugge as a truly beautiful city, we are really starting to like Belgium at this point and their beer more ...
