... at Roses looked much better with a lot more seafood included.<br><br>After lunch we set off up to the castle, inside its walls are numerous little houses which are still inhabited, although the satellite dishes were rather incongruous! After all this exercise it was time for a cocktail followed by a spot of shopping before eventually heading back to L&#8217;Escala.

When we returned to L'Escala after a day in Barcelona, we went in search of a restaurant for dinner (it was only 10.30 after all and diners were just arriving). Although L&#8217;Escala has a lot of shops, many only open during the high season &#8211; however there seemed to be quite a few restaurants so we headed to one on the waterfront where we had pizzas (Milly&#8217;s was an interesting seafood combination including mussels still in their shells ...

... Chris had arranged accommodation for us at Salt, near Girona airport and somewhat closer to Barcelona, where the plan was to spend the following day. We went into the office and met the Manager, and attempted to explain the situation &#8211; he had very little English, (and we had yet to learn any Spanish beyond Hola) and promptly gave us the key for our unit and escorted us to it. girona is a small city about one hour away from barcelona, its a beautiful place to visit, there are so many things to see and do, specially during the summer (like open air discotheques, concerts, etc.) the coast is near by, so you can spend a nice day a t the beach.
