Dominica The Nature Island - Travelogue Ian R Clayton, September 30 2009 A visit to Dominica is like a step back in Time. The island has not changed much in 50 years, there are more hotels, boutique accommodation and of course Johnny Depp and the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean have all been there ...
Dominica, Dominica irclay... Was thinking about having sex when you really love somebody. I haven't done that in 14 years. Makes me sad. But I remember how beautiful it was, having the person be inside you in everyway and as close as two people can be physically, and just looking into each other's eyes. Back to abstinant reality. And people not meeting my somewhat mild expectations. In other news, my eyebrows are almost back to their original splendor. So I ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dominica pirates_booty... I'll get int SJU tonight at 8. Get my bag (hopefully) and then find a motel room. Tomorrow I need to find a proper present for Devon's birthday. I'm on a flight that makes you have to stop at Antigua and Tortola, so I assume by the time i get in at 8, i'll be tired. Not to mention hungry. Other than that, all is well. Not sure what this trip will ultimately mean to me.
Dominica, Dominica pirates_booty... area via a van to the Wacky Rollers park where you embark upon a challenge that involves Ziplines, climbing and other physical challenges.
While the guys were on this tour, we set out out to explore some of the island before we met up with the guys to continue on.
Note - our original cab driver that we reserved for the day did not keep his reservation. It was noted that he was seen leaving with another ...
... list. However yesterday, to my dismay i found out from somebody thats its 4 hrs hike from Laudat one way.. so total of 8 hrs at least. So we backed out to that plan since we dont have alot of time to do that and just decided to visit Trafalgar Falls and just explore Roseau instead. Once the whole family were outside the ship, we went ahead to just explore first Roseau (pronounce Ro-zo). In Roseau, i was ...
Roseau, Dominica ri-anne.cruz... We felt quite at ease in this tropical jungle.
Afterwards, we made our way back to the ship. The sky was still grey but at least, not raining. :) As the ship left the island at 4:00pm, we could see from the top deck the Morne Trois Pitons. It sure was a lovely site to witness. The mountains stood up proud and powerful surrounded by its forests. Ahead of us, the grey sky was starting to clear to make ...
... their pet turtle - he was so sweet and had beautiful markings! Then, we boarded the vans and went back to the boat. This was by far my very favourite adventure ashore!
We went back on the ship and had lunch in the Dining Room - a Greek salad and Potato Gnocchi in a cheese sauce.
After our lunch, we went back on shore to the local craft market. We were looking for these pornographic mugs that we saw the last ...

Roseau, Dominica arnas... after that drink. The next day, the Thursday, I can hardly remember what I did. I know that I had a late start and spent the morning watching British programmes on BBC America (it's good to see something familiar). When the temperature went down considerably in the evening (i.e. approximately 26 degrees) I went for a walk around Roseau, Dominica's capital and then made my way to my cousin's flat on the river side for dinner and a long but productive ...
Roseau, Dominica simone.felix... as we could hear them continuing down the road to other villages. We watched for a few hours and then went back to the boat where we could still hear them tooting and drumming to their heart's content. Amazingly, all of the drummers in all of the groups for all of the days had the very same rhythm. And we heard it in the splash of the water, and the slap of the sails for days after. In the states, we celebrate Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) in preparation for ...
