We started in Spokane after flying in from Seattle.

First stop ... Costco in Coeur d'Alane to get some supplies for the road. Lots of water, and some meal bars to save on snacks. Then comes the realization that we (ie: Stuart) forgot our bag of bathroom supplies!

Second Stop ... Walmart! Bathroom supplies bought, along with some other extra items (sun screen most importantly).

I didn't get to bed Monday night, at 2:30 or so I left home and drove to Ben's, on the way the driver's window of the Subaru decided it didn't like going up or down any more and stopped in the mid range. The last 80 or 90kms I had a gale force cold wind blowing in on me!

... We did have an oscillating fan though. In the morning, the drill Sargent (me) woke us up early to make first tracks on the mountain. With breakfast done, repairs made to my tire, and water in our packs, we headed to the lift. Much as I've read about Whistler you'd have thought I would know the difference between cross country and gravity! Anyway, we were the only ones in the lift line without full face helmets.
