... so this is where we want to be.

Tuesday morning, I go out and I spot the McDonalds is open. Not the done thing for me when abroad, but I thought I’d have a McMuffin for breakfast. So I go in, only to find they just had the regular menu. The McDonalds in Gelsenkirchen was opened in the morning but did not sell McDonalds breakfast. Almost a summation of the small town mentality here.

... too many Euro coins is a more common problem (one I now have), given I only bought one thing all day I had nothing of the sort. Fortunately someone made change for me and I was told to get a ticket at a machine that was found to be broken. Eventually I sat back down and handed another attendant the coins, but this was not the start I was looking for. Hopefully my public transportation skills improve as the trip goes on...as well as my interactions with Germans! ;-)
