      ... the same in all cities but they were off the hook in Koln. It was like a mini city pop up for adults that bought Santa and the North Pole to life. Glue vine (warm wine), German food like bratwurst, pretzels, flamkucken (German pizza), shops galore, wood carving, glass blowing, Christmas trees and ice skating rings filled the square and people gathered together to shop, eat, drink and get into the Christmas spirit.       ... many miles on the tram and underground, the lady on reception explained where to get on and off the tram and the timetable (every 20 mins) the station was only 5 mins walk from the hotel front door and a tram was waiting to depart when I got there.

      ... saved time queuing, the baggage check in was very easy and automated, the machine weighed the bad then printed out a label to attach and off it went down the conveyer belt. Passport control went smoothly too and this gave me plenty of time for a coffee and relax before the flight, up to now it was going just fine and I was enjoying my little adventure.
